History

The mansion house situated at 52-54 Avenue Brugmann was built in 1899 and for many years was owned by the family of Baron Raoul Richard (1885-1962), former Minister for Economic Affairs and Small Businesses. At the time, the property consisted of an elegant mansion house with a terrace and gardens with extensive woods extending all the way to Rue Franz Merjay.

In 1986, the Brussels-Capital Region purchased the property and decided to turn the gardens into a park: the Abbé Froidure park.

In 2006, the Region sold the property to private owners. It was only in 2014 that the current owners took over and completely restored the building, transforming it into one of Brussels’ finest catering and dining venues.
